Community Shines Bright at Willowfield Iftar Celebration
Willowfield Community Centre was transformed into a hub of warmth, reflection, and shared joy on Thursday, March 5th, as pupils, families, and neighbours gathered for a special community Iftar.
The event, which marked the breaking of the fast during the holy month of Ramadan, saw an incredible turnout of over 250 attendees. The atmosphere was electric as people from every corner of the community came together to share a meal and celebrate the values of gratitude and togetherness.
As the sun set, the hall fell into a moment of respectful silence before the call to prayer signalled the end of the fast. Guests then enjoyed a vibrant spread of traditional dishes, ranging from dates and fresh fruit to hearty mains, all prepared with the spirit of community in mind.
"Seeing so many faces from across our school and neighbourhood sitting at one table was truly moving," said one parent. "It wasn’t just about the food; it was about the conversation and the connection."
Highlights of the evening included: Record Turnout: With over 250 guests, this year’s Iftar was one of the largest community events the school has organised.
Pupil Leadership: Our very own pupils played a massive role in organising the evening, from reading a range of
Shared Stories: The event provided a beautiful opportunity for non-fasting members of the community to learn more about Ramadan and share in the cultural richness of our school family.
