Online safety: How to setup a new device
Published 25/11/21https://www.internetmatters.org/ have provided some handy tips on helping to make your child’s device as safe as possible
Set parental controls on your broadband: this helps to prevent your children seeing things they shouldn’t!
Check device settings: ensure these are set so you can only download age appropriate apps and games.
Password control: set this up or disable in-app purchasing so bills aren’t run up accidentally.
Location services: disable these so your child doesn’t unintentionally share their location with others.
Talk about staying safe: be open to talking regularly with your child about what they do online and how to stay safe.
