Autumn 2 Newsletter

Welcome Back.  Here's some information and important diary dates for you to make note of.

Welcome back!

It was great to welcome everyone back last week. We have made a fantastic start to this half term’s learning and you will be receiving your learning letters at the beginning of next week with information about what your child will be learning in class and how you can support at home.

You said - We did

You said you enjoyed visiting school for the meet the teacher event. So this half term we would like to invite you into school to join your child for the core knowledge session in Maths. Core knowledge focuses on maths basics such as adding, subtracting and multiplications. Each day your child takes part in a 15 minute core knowledge session on top of their daily maths to support them developing their mathematical skills. Please see below for the dates. You are able to book one place for one adult during their maths workshop week. Please book via calling the office or popping in! Please arrive by 2.40 to sign in and be escorted to the classroom for the session to begin. Please be on time, if you are late we may not be able to show you to class to take part in the workshop. Please note no younger siblings may attend due to the children learning during this time. There will be a limited number of places on each session and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

National Anti-Bullying Week is officially from the 11th to 15th of November.

At Co-op Academy Princeville, we pride ourselves on keeping our children safe.

With this in mind we need to help the children understand how they can help keep themselves safe from bullying and provide them with strategies on how they can get help if they ever need it. This year’s theme is Choose Respect that links in well with our Core Values.

Children will attend assemblies specifically designed for their Key Stage and partake in PSHE lessons around identifying, tackling and reporting bullying.

This will send out two messages:

1. Children at Princeville understand what bullying is and how to stop it,

2. To show everyone bullying will not be tolerated.

Children in Need

This year at Co-op Academy Princeville are really excited to be raising money for Children In Need 2024! On Friday 15th November, we will be once again making our school SPOTACULAR! We will celebrate Norristhorpe’s fundraising efforts with a Children in Need themed non-uniform day; we are asking you all to add a dash of spots to your outfits or wear Pudsey with pride. To be able to come in non-uniform, we are kindly asking for a donation of a silver coin to be brought to school on the day. We really appreciate your support.

Staffing

This half term we will be saying goodbye to two members of staff. Mrs Chapman, one of our assistant heads and year two teacher, will leave us on Friday 29 November. Mrs N Majid, Deputy Headteacher will also be leaving us at Christmas after being at Princeville for 18 years. I am sure you will join me in wishing them the very best of luck for the future.
